Combining FORCES to help guide our youth to a healthier lifestyle.
Principle: The school's principle has decided to allow sodas and chips on the vending machines for extra income. However, some healthier options like bottled water and healthier snacks will be included as well. The idea is that, if some of the "bad stuff" runs out, students will have to subside to purchasing bottled water when thirsty or what ever snack is available if hungry. Hopefully, the students will give in.
Teacher: With the agreement from the school principal, teachers can send letters to parents (or care takers) informing them that the school is trying incorporate a healthier lifestyle for the students. The parents will be asked if any could volunteer from time to time to bake oatmeal cookies to sell to the students in order to generate school supplies. Involving the parents is a great way to help educate and promote the importance of "choosing" healthier options for nutrition.
